As part of the ongoing Byrne Dairy 90th anniversary celebration, the Milton J. Rubenstein Museum of Science and Technology (MOST) is hosting an Innovation Station exhibit on the history and technology of Byrne Dairy. The exhibit is on display now through the month of June, which is National Dairy Month.

The exhibit, which opened Feb. 23, features a timeline, advertisements and photos ranging from the Great Depression to the present day. Visitors can also see “The Story of Milk,” a 2016 video made by the New York Times’ T-Brand Studio and MilkPEP. The video was filmed at Silver Spring Farm and the Oneida Street processing plant in Syracuse.

In addition, visitors can get an up-close, interactive look at equipment Byrne uses in our plants. Byrne’s engineering department, led by Derek Moon, built models of an impeller, diaphragm pump, and valve that visitors can operate with the press of a button.

Cortland-based vintage glass collector Roger Thomas graciously lent Byrne and the MOST several Byrne Dairy glass milk bottles from the 1930s to today for the Byrne Dairy 90th anniversary exhibit.
