Product Review: Byrne Hollow Farm Organic Milk & Lactose Free Milk
I love it when I get to focus on a local NY business that embraces the farm-to-table movement and offers organic or natural products that also taste great! Byrne Hollow Farm is one such business located in New York’s Hudson Valley. With over 85 years of dairy farming experience and dedication to the farm-to-table movement, Byrne Hollow Farm offers a variety of dairy products, from organic milk to greek yogurt, and now also Lactose Free Milk – all of which are made from locally-sourced, rBST-free, non-GMO milk.
I have purchased Byrne Hollow Farm’s USDA Certified Organic Whole Milk and 2% Milk on many occasions – it is widely available at Whole Foods in the NY area. It is a great tasting USDA certified organic milk and the whole family loves it. The organic milk comes from farms that are on average 35 miles from the bottling plant, creating a very low carbon footprint, fostering sustainability, and also ensuring that the milk is super fresh!
This past weekend was the first time we picked up Byrne Hollow Farm’s new Lactose Free Milk (we opted for the Lactose Free 2% Milk variety). Byrne Hollow Farm Lactose Free Milk is a new product from Byrne Dairy. It is in select Byrne Dairy Stores (CNY), ShopRite (NJ, NYC & Capital Region), Gristedes SuperMarkets (NYC) and select Best Markets stores. The brand’s primary differentiator against other lactose free milks is that it is a great tasting real milk from one single sourced, local family farm in Central New York (Hourigan Farms in Navarino, NY) which allows the milk to be traceable to its origin. The nutritional information is listed for each type of milk together with the milk fats and other details. Byrne Hollow Farm’s Lactose Free Milk is also free from any artificial growth hormones (rBST), additives, or GMOs.
